Dyslexia is a difficulty in learning to read and
write despite traditional instruction.
It is not due to a lack of intelligence...It is an impairment in the brain's ability to
translate images received from the eyes or ears into understandable readable language.
Dyslexics do not have a problem with speaking or understanding speech. Their problems lie
with their reading and writing skills, which is why many do not enjoy reading as a
pastime. Students commonly have problems with letter and word reversal, transferring
information from what is heard to what is seen and vice versa. This often results in
students falling behind in their reading and general studies.
Does this remind you of yourself or someone you know?
